Is the Night Breaker LED approved for my vehicle?

The OSRAM Night Breaker LED is a popular upgrade for halogen lighting: more powerful, whiter, and more energy-efficient.
But before installing them, you naturally want to make sure they are road legal for your vehicle.

Fortunately, you can easily check this yourself using the official OSRAM compatibility list.
Simply follow these steps:

Step 1.
Go to the official OSRAM page:

Step 2.
Select the country where your vehicle is registered.

Step 3.
Open the application list (compatibility list).

Step 4.
Scroll down until you find the downloadable files for:

Night Breaker LED
Truckstar LED

Step 5.
Download the correct list. (These lists are regularly updated by OSRAM.)

Step 6.
Find your vehicle model in the list.
> Is your make and model listed? Then the installation of the Night Breaker LED bulbs is road legal for your vehicle.

Step 7.
Have you found the correct bulb model?
Enter the article number on our website werkenbijlicht.nl and order your LED upgrade right away.

Step-by-step guide for the NIGHT BREAKER LED

Steps before purchasing the lamp

Step 1

Check your car and the approval number on the headlight

Go to the application list and check whether your car is listed. Compare the approval number on the headlight in the list with the number on your vehicle’s headlights. It starts with an “E” followed by one or two digits in a circle, and continues with a series of four or five numbers. You can also see in the list whether you need the LEDriving ADAPTER and/or two LEDriving CANBUS units for installation.

Note: Only the combination of OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER LED bulbs together with the official OSRAM accessories – LEDriving ADAPTER and LEDriving SMART CANBUS (where required) – is permitted.

NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART ECE H11 is approved for all 12V vehicles in all ECE member states for all light functions as a suitable replacement for all H11 bulbs and sockets.

Steps after purchasing the lamp

Step 2

Download and print the legal documents

LED replacement for H1, H4, H7, H8, H10, H16 and HB4 bulbs.

Scan the QR code on the OSRAM Trust sticker on your NIGHT BREAKER LED packaging, or enter the 7-digit code in the OSRAM Trust App. Complete the verification, download and print the General Operating Permit (ABG) and keep it in your vehicle. It’s sufficient to print the main section and the page from Annex 1 listing the relevant vehicles.

Scan the QR code on the OSRAM Trust sticker on your NIGHT BREAKER LED packaging, or enter the 7-digit code in the OSRAM Trust app. After completing verification, you’ll receive a download link with the general type approval document. Print it and always keep it in your car once the LED bulbs are installed.
